Shame is what we feel when we've let someone down, when we've let others down. When we haven't forfulled on our promises to ourselves or others.

Maybe you've gone against your moral code in a situation, perhaps you remember it in vivid detail but perhaps it was a relatively minor event but your body, your subconsious is still holding onto it.

Unkind words, unkind actions, things that you shouldn't have done.

When we hold onto shame it weighs us down, it doesn't let us express ourselves fully and perhaps keeps you shyed away, not able to forfill your potential.

What if i fail again
What if nobody likes it
What if it doesn't work
What if it offends someone
What if it doesn't work
I've tried and failed before, I can't do it again.
What will people think of me if they knew.

Letting go of shame allows you to forgive yourself of what you've done. Take the action that rights the wrongs of your past. Unshakles you from your invisible chains. Frees you to change yourself to become attoned for what you feel that you did wrong.

Here's the thing - you did what you thought was right at the time, in those specific set of circumstances. In hindsight you'd probably do it differently but you can't change that. You can change who you are and how you behave today though.

But only if you release the shame.
