Jenny had Back Pain, Knee Pain and was unable to exercise

As an AMN practitioner I see a huge variety of health problems.

Jenny had a list, this is quite common for my clients.

Usually when you see a physical therapist there's usually a focus on one of perhaps many.

I find that most of our physical problems are linked in someway to each other.

She is 45, had back pain, knee pains, she had lost significant strength and power in her legs

Despite being a Personal Trainer and knowing a lot about rehab due to her long injury history she was unable to track the problems down.

Only getting temporary relief with what she had been doing.

After one appointment here's what she said:

Update

Today was leg day I wasn't sure what to expect. This particular workout had been getting almost impossible to do even just with bodyweight variations, but I hadn't wanted to give up on it completely so for a while - I'd been lightening the loads or adapting movement.

5 min warm up on rowing machine - this was significantly smoother and easier to complete 1000m in 5 mins. No pain and much less stiffness through lower back and knees.

Dynamic stretches, floor movements, adapted some judo drills to fit on gym floor. Bridge and roll and, scorpion and reverse scorpion. Much better mobility through lower back.

Then on to the legs - warm up set with 20kg barbell this was easy, given that until Friday I'd been having difficulty in doing basic squat action with no extra weight, a very pleasing result, so I upped the weight for the next set. 2x5kg plates, again easy - what a result, upped the weight to do the next set, just with 2x2.5kg this was more of a challenge but still able to lift to 10 reps with good form. So this will be starting weight for the working sets on the next session with squats.

I was also able to perform lunges with dumbbells, pre treatment on Friday I'd struggled to even do the action of a lunge without losing balance. Today I was able to use 6kg dB and complete 3 x 10 reps on each leg.

Tested out several other exercises and massive improvement across the board.

I feel like I should be able to increase load and strengthen back up to the levels I was at 6 months ago fairly quickly.

Thanks again Pete.
